Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, three masked criminals entered into the house of a trader and shot at him from close range at Subhas Colony under Ulidih police station area in Mango on Monday morning.
The trader, Kailash Agrawal (58) was critically injured as bullets were pumped. Soon the victim’s family informed his brothers who reside at a near-by locality and within half-an-hour Agrawal was rushed to the Bistupur-based Tata Main Hospital.
The doctors on emergency duty immediately shifted him to the high dependency unit (HDU). According to hospital sources, the pellet which entered into the victim’s right side of the face was yet to be taken out.
According to sources, initially the condition of the patient deteriorated due to excessive bleeding, but gradually his condition became stable. The surgeons are trying to take out the pellet.
The incident took place on Road No. 3 at the densely-poplated Subhas Colony at about 7.45 am, at a time while the locality was bustling with activities.
Superintendent of police (city) Prashant Anand visited the spot and later went to Tata Main Hospital’s HDU. As the victim was not in a condition to speak, senior cop spoke to his brothers about the incident.
“It is very early to say anything about the reason behind the shooting. Though three masked men entered into Agrawal’s house and shot at him after assaulting him inside his house, the reason behind this crime is not clear. We are probing into the incident to find out the reason,” said Anand.
The city SP said initial probe suggests that the reason behind attack on the trader’s house by three masked men was not loot as they have not taken anything along with them.
But, Pawan Agrawal, one of the three brothers of the gun-shot victim claimed that the reason behind the gun-shot attack was loot.
” We are really shocked after the incident. The three masked men had entered into the house soon after my nephew Vikash had gone out for bringing milk from a local store.
As some of them was trying to snatch a gold chain from my daughter-in-law Puja, my brother resisted their move. It was at this point that one of the masked men shot at my brother,” explained Pawan who resides at Tank Road in Ulidih,.
