Jamshedpur : Steel city is being decked up for the Founder’s Day celebration scheduled on March 3, which marks birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. The new chairman of Tata Sons N Chandrasekaran is likely to attend the Founder’s Day pageantry as the chief guest.
Tata Steel has selected the theme for this year’s pageantry as ‘Going Digital’ which would be held as usual inside the Tata Steel works with tableaus by Tata Steel and its subsidiaries and sister concerns based on the theme of digital initiatives.
Sources in the steel major confided that the new chairman apart from attending Tata Steel founder’s day celebration will also be visiting Tata Motors plant.
The entire Jubilee Park, including the Jayanti Sarovar and Upvan, will be decked up for the week-long festivities. Instead, there will be a complete representation of the founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata’s global visions.
The global thoughts and ideals of the founder, which have strengthened the company’s foundations, would be on displayed. Apart from Tata Steel and other companies of the Tata group, hotels and restaurants are also being decked up for the occasion.
It’s not Tata Steel alone but, Steel city at large is gearing up to celebrate the Founder’s Day, the birth anniversary of J N Tata on 3rd March, the founder of the Steel major and the one who laid the foundation of the semi cosmopolitan city of the erstwhile Bihar. Inside works floats would demonstrate how the departments have incorporated their working based on Tata philosophy.
Tata Steel’s subsidiary, Jusco which looks after civic upkeep in the city area, has already started giving facelift to Jubilee Park, Bhetiya Park (Kadma), Dorabji Tata Park (Northern Town), and Nildih Park (in Nildih near Telco).
“Like every year work is in full progress for the Founder’s Day. Works is carried out on a war footing to complete widening work of Straight Mile stretch (Sakchi to Jusco town office), Inner Circle Road (connecting Bistupur to Kadma), Tinplate- Nildih Road (Golmuri to Telco), Straight Mile Road stretch from Agrico to Sidhgora and Bistupur-Shastrinagar Road. We hope to complete road construction, widening and installation of central verge soon,’ said a senior official of Jusco.
Jusco has also installed bamboo poles with fresh coat of white painting at vacant stretch of areas near pavements to prevent squatters and vendors near TMH Roundabouts as part of beautification.
Besides, the annual tributes paying celebration inside the premises of Tata Steel works and illumination of the Jubilee Park, which is primarily the company’s affair, several of the city based social organisations have planned to hold programmes on 3rd March to pay their heartily tributes to the iconic personality of the Indian history.
These organisations will take out colourful pageantry near Food Plaza on March 3 to pay tributes to the visionary.
