Trader dies after being hit by oil tanker

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Traffic on the busy Sakchi-Golmuri road remained affected for about an hour following fatal accident of a 50-year-old trader near Nettur Technical Training Institute under Golmuri police station on Tuesday.

The victim, Chunchun Chowdhary, owner of popular confectionary store, Darbhanga Dairy, located in Sakchi market, was driving his two-wheeler to shop when a speeding petroleum tanker coming from behind rammed him from rear, around 9 in the morning.

Following the incident, pedestrians and roadside shop keepers rushed to the accident site to rescue the victim but in the meantime he succumbed to the injuries on the spot.

Traffic constables who were on duty at some distance from the accident site reached the spot immediately and caught hold the driver of the killer vehicle.

Traffic on the road resumed after victim�s body was shifted to MGM hospital for postmortem,� said Golmuri police station in-charge, Md. Nehaluddin.
