Jamshedpur, Nov 11: Top seed shown the door in the opening rounds of the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024, been held at the sand-clay courts of the prestigious Beldih Club, Jamshedpur.
Top seed in Men’s Singles, Oges Theyjo Jayaprakash of Tamil Nadu fought hard before making an early exit from the main draw as the unseeded State-mate Rohith Hari Balaji, also from Tamil Nadu entered the pre quarter finals with a 3-6,6-4,6-2 victory over India No. 32.
Another seed falling on the opening day was 7th seeded Md Arib Afzal of Bengal who failed to impress the audience as he lost out a close battle against Saikaran Angamuthu of Tamil Nadu by 3-6,5-7.
Pratyush Mohanty of Odisha, seeded 2 in the Men’s Singles draw did not have to sweat much against Bengal’s Aritro Ghosh as the former won by a comfortable 6-2,6-1.
Matches will start from 08:00 am tomorrow.
