Jamshedpur, Nov 20: Top seed and No. 23 in India, V M Ranjeet sails through to the semi finals of the ongoing Beldih Club AITA Men’s 1 Lac National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2019, been held at the clay courts of Beldih Club and United Club in Jamshedpur.
Ranjeet, an Ex Davis Cupper, was ruthless on court today during his quarter final match as he whitewashed 6th seeded Vashu Gupta of UP by a humiliating 6-0, 6-0. Ranjeet will face Bengal’s Rohit Rampuria in the semi-finals tomorrow who in turn got the better of Himanshu Maurya by a straight 6-1, 6-2.
In the other half of the draw, finalist of 2017 Beldih Club 50K Men’s Tournament, Abhinansu Borthkur booked a spot at the semi finals with a 6-4, 6-4 win over state-mate Arghya Das, seeded 2 in the draw. Borthakur will meet Anurag Kumar Saran of Odisha who surpassed Md Fardeen by a 3 hour long 1-6, 6-2, 6-5(conc).
Matches will start from 8:30 am tomorrow.
