Speeding Audi car crushes nine year old boy to death in Jamshedpur, 8 others injured

Jamshedpur: A day after a fatal mishap causing two persons to be killed on the spot at Baradwari in Sakchi on Wednesday morning, another mishap took place causing a nine-year-old boy to die on the spot and eight persons got injured.

The victim identified as Ashad Ejaz was runover by a luxury car being driven by a drunk driver hit him at Block No 3 in Shastrinagar under Kadma police station area around midnight.

The victims, including the boy were the residents of Shastrinagar. They were participating in a marriage procession there when the ill-fated mishap took place.

As soon as the mishap took place, the local residents rushed all those injured to the Tata Main Hospital, where the doctors on emergency duty declared the boy to be dead.

Ashad was a resident of BH Area and a student of Class III in DBMS English School.  He was participating in the marriage of a cousin brother.

The police arrested the driver and also seized the luxury car which was used for ferrying groom from Road No 4 in BH Area in Kadma to the bridegroom’s house at Shashtrinagar at about 11.30 pm.

OC, Kadma police station, Vinay Kumar said the mishap victims, including the ill-fated boy were dancing in the `baraat’ procession ahead of the luxury car in which the groom was seated. Suddenly the driver of the car increased the speed and hit those indulged in dancing to the tune of band.  The car took a turn to the right and stopped having hit a boundary wall of a residential colony. The OC confirmed that the driver was drunk and said that his name is yet to be verified.

On Wednesday, two persons were killed as a car coming from opposite direction rammed into them while they were the road Near Baradwari in Sakchi at 6 am. The victims used to work with wedding bands and to utter surprise the decorated car that ran over them was returning from a wedding.
