Simdega, Feb. 1: Swachhta Sankalp Abhiyan as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, organized a Swachhta Samvad in Ambapani Village of Joram Panchayat under the thaingar block of Simdega.
Chief Guest of the program Parameshawar Aiyar, Union Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary, said that the energetic leadership and enthusiastic people of Jharkhand, especially the teamwork and empowerment of women, have contributed to make the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of the Modi Government successful.
‘Our Ministry will undertake the success story of this campaign all over the country. Appreciating the spirit of Ramkumar Lugoon of Kombokera village of Bansjor block, he said that he has made incomparable contribution in making the toilets in the entire village with his own hard work.
He called Ram Kumar the real hero of the movie. He congratulated Amuni Dungdung of the sixth grade who wrote to her parents and motivated them to make toilets in the house.
Emphasizing the use of the toilet as well as its use, he said that the enthusiasm they have put in the construction of toilets should also have the same enthusiasm in using it. Referring to a study by UNICEF, he said that with the construction and use of the toilet, a family can save up to 40 percent of its expenses.
Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said that the work done in the direction of cleanliness in Ambapani village is exemplary for the entire state. Their enthusiasm for cleanliness by women, their emotions, the will power, and the confidence are the key to the success of this whole campaign.
She said that we will make the entire state open defecation free on the strength of the courage of the people. Cleanliness is such an aspect that affects the individual and social life of every person in the society. Describing cleanliness as a bigger capital, she said that being clean and equitable of cleanliness facilities is very important. The government has given rights to women and village committees; you understand your rights and use them for the betterment of society.
Monitor the plans through the committees and implement the schemes properly for public interest. It is your responsibility to implement the schemes given by the government.
In the Samvad program, Deputy Commissioner Simdega Manjunath Bhajantri, Director Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Rajesh Kumar also expressed their views.
