Ranchi, June 7: To save the youth from drug addiction, the sale of cigarettes or any other tobacco product has been banned within 100 yards of all educational institutions for Ranchi district. Ranchi Sadar SDO Utkarsh Kumar has implemented the prohibition order using the powers provided under Section 144.
In the information issued, it has been said that the sale of cigarettes or any other tobacco product within 100 yards of any educational institution has been banned under the COTPA Act. In which prohibitory orders have been issued within 100 yards of all private and government schools, colleges and universities.
This prohibitory order will remain in force for the next 60 days. If anyone violates this, the administration will take action against him.
