Ranchi: Chief Minister Champai Soren has taken over the departments previously managed by Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam, who is currently in jail due to a cash scandal. The Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department has issued a notification regarding this change.
As per the notification, issued by Home Secretary Vandana Dadel, the CM has now assumed responsibility for the Parliamentary Affairs Department, Rural Development Department, Rural Works Department, and Panchayati Raj Department, in addition to the departments already under his purview. This change is effective immediately.
Sources indicate that this move by the Chief Minister is intended to pressure the Congress to take action against Minister Alamgir Alam, either by initiating disciplinary measures or by prompting his resignation. The decision also suggests that if the Congress does not act soon, the Chief Minister may proceed to dismiss Alamgir from his ministerial position.
