Jamshedpur, Oct 3: Spread of COVID-19 cases is stabilising in the city. Going by the trends in the city, the situation is getting normal. During a telephonic media interaction, Dr Rajan Choudhry, advisor, and former general manager, medical services, Tata Steel made the above observation. He said that it is his viewpoint that the situation is showing signs of improvement.
Meanwhile, TMH has also decided to set up a post Covid19 care clinic at its OPD. Sensing the need of those patients who recovered from coronavirus, the hospital will start operating the clinic by next week.
He said that they have witnessed post COVID-19 ailments in patients who have recovered. � Lethargy, joint pains, difficulty in breathing, itching and other skin related diseases are some ailments found in the patients post the recovery. We have decided to provide a consultant to such patients who want further treatment. It will be a paid service,� said the advisor.
He said that a doctor along with other para medical staff will be appointed for the clinic and it will start functioning from next week.
Meanwhile, the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients at Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) has improved from 82.38 per cent to 83.16. The former general manager said that going by the trend it seems that the situation is becoming normal in the city. A total of 3551 patients have been admitted at the hospital.
While last week 246 patients were admitted this week the numbers reduced to 201. The positive sign of improvement is also reflected from the fact that positivity in RT-PCR tests has reduced from to 18.49 per cent and Antigen Test 5.19 per cent to 3.80.
During the week, about 217 patients were discharged. Moreover, 59 patients hailing from 80 years and above have been discharged so far. This week alone 8 patients were discharged.
He went on to inform that the recovery of COVID-19 patients at one of the largest hospitals in Jharkhand, Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) has improved. Dr Rajan Choudhry said that the hospital is providing the best services to the people of Jharkhand. However, they too can cater to patients to a certain amount.
In order to help worried family members get every detail of their COVID patient admitted at the hospital, TMH has started its app TMH Vishwas to provide every detail of their patient through it.
The prime health hub of Jamshedpur city manages a total 1087 beds for COVID-19 management which includes 661 beds for COVID positive patients, 112 number of routine isolation beds, 18 ICU isolation beds and 36 ICU COVID beds. TMH is equipped with 83 ventilators for the critical patients.
