Jamshedpur, Jan. 11: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) today organized a programme ‘Zindagi jo mil gayi dobara’, an interactive session between Department of Cardiology and its patients. Sunil Bhaskaran, vice-president (Corporate Services), Tata Steel graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Bhaskaran said ‘The journey of cardiac care in TMH is very old. The TMH Cath lab in terms of efficiency, technology and effectiveness is amongst the best in India. I feel proud that in such a short span of time the Cath lab has been able to develop a commendable team and providing quality work for the citizens. TMH is also planning to add cardiac surgery to the department.
During the session the patients and their family members interacted freely with the care givers. The importance of diet, regular exercise and medicines was stressed upon in addition to warning symptoms of recurrent problems and early measures for emergencies. Lt Gen (Retd) Dr G Ramdas opined that such interactive sessions help to bridge gaps and improve understanding. Doctor-patient relationship is based on mutual respect and trust.
Since April 9, 2015, within a short span of nine months more than 800 angiographies and 150 angioplasties have been done in TMH Cath lab. The enthusiastic and motivated staff of the Cath Lab organized a New Year get together for their patients who underwent angioplasty.
