TMC to set its foot in Jharkhand for tribal welfare: WB Minister

Jamshedpur: West Bengal agriculture minister Purnendu Bose on Sunday said the people of the state wanted an alternative political party like the Trinamool Congress in order to get their dreams fulfilled.

He was speaking to scribes at Circuit House on his visit to the city. He addressed a party meeting in Patamada where several people took TMC membership.

Criticizing the state government, Bose said the development of Adivasis and Moolvasis was still a pipe dream. The people of Jharkhand need a strong political party with an iron will so that all promises made to the tribal people are fulfilled without delay.

This is the reason we are planning to expand TMC in the state. Many people have joined the party in Patamada and at other places so far. We expect a surge in the membership in the coming days, he said.

The West Bengal minister was accompanied by MLA Srikant Mahato and Harmohan Mahato, convenor of Jharkhand Moolvasi Adhikar Manch.

Harmohan handed over a memorandum to the minister demanding basic amenities and rehabilitation of displacement victims along with jobs and compensation.
