Jamshedpur: In a compelling call to action, former Member of Parliament and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar addressed Congress workers and leaders on Monday, urging them to stand united against what he describes as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “divide and rule” policy. Dr. Ajoy ‘s open letter emphasizes the need for collective strength to combat the divisive tactics that, he argues, threaten the fabric of Indian democracy.
Dr. Ajoy draws parallels between the BJP’s approach and the historical strategies of the British colonial regime, stating, “Like the British, BJP also believes in the policy of divide and rule. We have to face this, and it is our responsibility to make people aware of BJP’s divide and rule policy.” He accuses the ruling party of fostering societal hatred to create divisions among people, undermining the unity that is essential for a diverse nation like India.
“India is a country of diversity where people of every caste and religion live together in harmony. This secular identity is what makes our nation beautiful, and it is something the BJP does not appreciate,” Dr. Ajoy asserted. He stressed that the Congress Party respects all religions and castes, focusing on inclusive development that reaches the most marginalized members of society.
Highlighting the achievements of the Jharkhand India Alliance government, Dr. Ajoy pointed to initiatives like the Maiya Yojana, which he claims is instrumental in empowering women economically. “We are continuously creating new dimensions of development, even in the absence of support from the central government,” he added, criticizing BJP leaders for their inability to accept these advancements.
Asserting the urgency of the situation, Dr. Ajoy warned of the growing spread of hatred in Jharkhand, urging citizens to remain vigilant. He calls for a robust response to BJP’s tactics in the upcoming 2024 assembly elections. “We need to be united. Our energy must be directed towards positive work, and we must make every effort to form a strong India Alliance government in Jharkhand,” he concluded.
