Tilaiya police bust con gang luring men with escort service, 12 arrested

Koderma, June 4: Tilaiya police on Saturday arrested 12 youth in connection with cybercrime case. Acting on tip-off the team raided a 4-storey building located in the bypass road under the police station jurisdiction  

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashok Kumar said that Police Sub-Inspector Anand Mohan Kumar of Tilaiya police station had received secret information during patrolling that some youth in Rajan Saw’s house located in Naresh Nagar are involved in cyber crime and have been cheating people.

Addressing a press conference at Tilaiya police station, SDPO informed that youth used to chat through WhatsApp app using girl’s picture in the name of providing escort service. Later 12 youth were arrested from four flats.

SDPO further said that during investigation many links related to escort service along with rates, mobile number and picture of girls were found in the mobile of the arrested youth.

“When people from different states contacted them through the link prepared by these youth, they used to fix the rate by sending semi-nude pictures of girls, after which they use to take money for booking through digital means including Phone pay. They also cheated people by blackmailing them by demanding more money,” added SDPO Ashok Kumar.

The arrested youth include Rohit Kumar (20), Vikas Ram (28), Ramchandra Ram (30), Tinku Kumar (30) residents of Masipidi Village in Barkatha police station jurisdiction.

Sonu Kumar (19) Rajesh Kumar Sao (22), Rahul Kumar Sao (20) , Dheeraj Sao (18) , Suraj Rana (23) Ram Kumar (26), and Pradeep Kumar (30) residents of Gorhar village and Sachin Kumar (19) resident of Bekobar in Koderma district.

Police recovered 18 android mobiles, 12 keypad mobiles, ATM cards, PAN cards and Aaadhaar cards. Case has been registered in Telaiya police station and sent the youth to jail.
