Three-year-old girl drowns in Jamshedpur Kharkai River

Jamshedpur, July 28: Ananya, a three-year-old girl of Sashtrinagar Block # 3 under Kadma police station, was drowned in the Kharkai River while playing on the banks. According to information, Ananya was playing with other children on the banks of the river.

She went into the river while playing with another girl of the neighborhood and moved into deeper water.

The girl with whom she was playing rushed to inform Ananya’s family. On receiving the information, Ananya’s mother rushed to the river bank and jumped into the water to find her daughter but the local people pulled the mother out of the river.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and with the help of local divers, made attempts to trace the Ananya. The girl’s father, Krishnanand Verma, a security guard too was informed and he reached the Kharkai bank where the three year old was playing.

At the time of going to press, reports came in that the search for the girl was continuing.
