Jamshedpur : Three women were injured in a suspected blasted that was triggered at a bush in Ram Madiya basti under Adityapur police station area of Seraikela Kharsawan district. The blast took place when the women, who work as labourer, had gone to collect wood from a nearby bush at 2 PM.
As the victims were collecting wood, a blast took place and the women identified as Janki Devi, Sita Devi and Babi Devi received injuries. The victims were immediately rushed to MGM Medical Hospital where they were given immediate treatment.
Recalling the incident, Janki Devi said �We had gone to collect wooden from a nearby bush when suddenly we heard a loud blast and then we were in blood. We have been going�. She further added that they have been visiting Ram Madiya basti to collect wood but this is the first time such an incident took place.
Inderjeet Rana, officer- in charge of Adityapur Police station confirmed the incident. He said: “We are investigating the incident. There must have been some crackers or suspected bomb kept there that got triggered. It is too early to reveal our findings.�
Sources informed that a team of bomb disposal squad of Special Task Force (STF), Ranchi is expected to arrive at the spot of explosion tomorrow for carrying out investigation.
Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas. �Security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxalites too,� said another official.
