Three PLFI rebels of Akash squad nabbed, arms seized

Chaibasa: A joint team of West Singhbhum police and CRPF jawans arrested three People�s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) rebels from Rundhikocha village under Anandpur police station area on Saturday.

The cops also confiscated a country-made single-shot, a pistol along with one 9 mm bullet and an empty cartridge from the possession of the accused persons. Those arrested were identified as Rajendra Singh, Silas Bhengra and Rajeev Roshan Singh alias Chhotu Haldar.

DSP of Manoharpur Ram Manohar Sharma said the PLFI members were caught on the basis of a tip-off to the district police about the PLFI commander Akash Singh being present in Rundhikocha. A joint team of district police and the CRPF jawans led by CRPF commandant Surendra Singh and the officer in-charge of Anandpur Mohammad Azad Khan conducted raid in the said village. Cops also went to a hill in Rundhikocha where they spotted the three accused trying to flee the village. The trio was caught after being surrounded from all sides, said the DSP.

Those arrested reportedly confessed their association with the PLFI commander Akash Singh. They said they gave information to Akash about police activities in the area, said the DSP.
