Three persons killed in separate road mishaps near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Three persons were killed while another was injured in three separate road mishaps� that took place in and around the steel city. The victims were identified as Narendra Sardar (35), of Rasunchopa in Kowali police station in Potka, Salim Siddique (22), a resident of Kharangajhar in Telco and Kamlesh Kumar Sharma (21), a resident of Gobarghusi in Patamda.

While Salim and Kamlesh succumbed to their injuries at the Tata Main Hospital this morning, Narendra was killed on the spot at Rasunchopa village in Kowali block at about 11 pm on Thursday.

The first accident took place at Telco when the bike Salim and his friend Mohammed Sajid (20) were riding was hit by a school bus at Telco. 

In the mishap both the youths were injured and were taken to Tata Motors Hospital in Telco.  As their condition deteriorated, the family members shifted them to the Tata Main Hospital.  Salim who had sustained serious injury succumbed to his injury this morning. Sajid who was sitting pillion also sustained head injury and is struggling for his life at the Tata Main Hospital.

OC, Telco police station, Akhilesh Kumar said  the accident took place as the bike hit into a school bus, resulting in serious injuries to both the youths.  He said neither of the victims had put on helmets, adding that the school bus has been seized. However, the driver managed to escape.

The second mishap took place at Rasunchopa village.  The victim was a contract worker and was returning home at Rasunchopa by a cycle, but suddenly a truck hit him from behind, causing Narendra to die on the spot.

Soon after the mishap, the residents of Rasunchopa village set up a blockade demand compensation. The blockade was set up at about 11.30 pm and was cleared by 11 am today after the local administration paid the victim’s family Rs 10,000 as compensation.

The third mishap took place on Tata-Patamda road pm when Kamlesh who was riding a bike without helmet was hit by a truck.  The police rushed the injured who had sustained grievous head injury to Tata Main Hospital where he died this morning.
