Jamshedpur, Sept 13: The three day TechRoot Festival, designed as a celebration of technology, got underway on Wednesday, September 13 with its formal inauguration performed jointly by Srinath University Chancellor Sukhdev Mahto, VC Dr Govind Mahto, Principal of Srinath College of Education, Dr Balabhadra Jena and Dean (Administration), J Rajesh. This first edition of TechRoot is being organized in association with Srinath University’s School of Engineering and School of IT.
In his inaugural address at TechRoot, Vice Chancellor of Srinath University, Dr Govind Mahato said, “Engineers and scientists have an important contribution in all the achievements being made in the world. An engineer should have patience as patience is the vehicle that successfully reaches one to the goal. This TechRoot fest is aimed towards fuelling their passion and ambition.”
A number of competitions will be held in this three-day fest, among which today’s main attractions were Bridge Kriti, Quiz Mania, Solve the Rubik’s, E-Games whose elimination rounds were conducted on Wednesday.
In his interaction with the media, the Head of the School of Engineering, Shashikant Singh said that the Fest was an attempt to bring technology related competitions under one roof. He expressed gratitude to all schools and colleges in and around Jamshedpur for the support and participation in this endeavour. Head of School of IT, Anuj Pandey, expressing his happiness on the participation of such a large number of students, observed, “Their enthusiasm shows that our future is in good hands.”
The participating schools, colleges and universities in the three day TechRoot fest include NTTF, ADL Sunshine High School, RVS College of Engineering, KMPM Vocational College, Birla Institute of Technology, Arka Jain University, Xavier School Gamharia, Karim City College, Aakash Institute, Netaji Subhash University, Jamshedpur Cooperative College, Central Public School, Vidya Bharati High School, Vani Vidya Mandir and others.
