Jamshedpur: A three day Rabindra Sangeet festival commencing January 11 will see glitterati of performers including artistes from Jamshedpur, Kolkata, UK and Bangladesh.
Art and music have no geographical barriers and this festival will be another proof that the voice of the soul cannot be contained within barricades of geo-political concerns.
Addressing a news meet today Honorary General Secretary of Tagore Society Asish Chowdhury informed that on January 11, the inaugural day, London based Rabindra Sangeet exponent Ananda Gupta along with highly popular artistes from Kolkata Shreya Guha Thakurta, Durnivar Saha, Swagatalakkhi Dasgupta and Manomay Bhattacharjee will regale music enthusiasts with their renditions.
On January 12, versatile singer from the city, Chandana Chowdhury will present Rabindra Sangeet along with Kolkata performers Arindam Ganguly, Sraboni Sen and Srikanta Acharjee. Another highlight of the 2nd day’s proceedings will be the performance of the internationally renowned singer from Bangladesh, Aditi Mohsin.
On the final day, January 13, of this three day Rabindra Sangeet Festival, high octane expectations will be met by Kolkata’s highly popular artistes Manoj Murli Nair, Bidipta Chakraborty and Saheb Mukherjee. Another famed singer of Kobiguru Rabindranath’s lyrical masterpieces, Laisa Ahmad Lisa, will add to the aura of mesmerizing music performances with her mellifluous voice.
The baritone voiced Sabyasachi Chanda will anchor the proceedings over three days of the Festival. Instrumental music accompaniment will be provided by popular tabaliya Biplab Mandal. Subroto Mukherjee will perform on the keyboard while Anjan Basu and Sanjivan Acharya will provide violin accompaniment.
