Steel City being decked up for JN Tata’s birth anniversary
Jamshedpur, Feb 21: The 183rd birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata will be celebrated with pomp and colour. Preparations are in full swing to add a festive touch to the city as part of Founder’s Day festivities. Attractive illumination will brighten the festive occasion at and around Founder JN Tata’s statue in Jubilee Park. According to information, the lighting will be inaugurated by Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran on March 2 evening.
East Singhbhum district administration has allowed Tata Steel to display the light illuminations in the city including Jubilee Park for three days but entry into the Park will be banned.
Heritage buildings in Jamshedpur including Tata Workers Union, TMH, Directors Bungalow,Bharucha Mansion (Regal Building), Jamshedpur Eye Hospital, Clock Tower at Golmuri Golf Course, JUSCO office, Postal Park, Sir Dorabji Tata Park, Beldih roundabout, Kadma’s Bhetiya Park, Beldih Lake, Jubilee Park roundabout, Regal roundabout are among the 32 prominent spots that have been illuminated.

Kadma-Sonari Link Road has been revamped. The walls along the road are being painted with 3D art depicting the history of Tata Steel and Jamshedpur. At the side of the road, a cycle track has been laid while pathway in the middle of the road will provide convenience to morning and evening walkers. A park by the side of the Link Road has been developed as open gym.
Captain Dhananjay Mishra, Senior General Manager, Jharkhand Business, Tata Steel UISL visited the link road on Monday, February 21 to ensure that everything was in order prior to Founder’s Day.
