Jamshedpur, July 14 : The three-day Guru Purnima Mahotsav kicked off at Kadma-based Brahmolokdham, a unit of Beldih Kalibari and founded by Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha on Sunday.
Local members of the sangha � which organises the festival � along with 500 outstation members, have gathered for the celebrations. Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha is a religious outfit founded by Srimad Brahmananda Shastri, the former head priest of Beldih Kalibari.

This is the 46th year of the mahotsav which kicked off at Brahmolokdham early this morning with a flag hoisting ceremony amid the presence of Kripabindu Bhattacharjee, Srimad Brahmananda Shastri�s elder son and president of the sangha and other senior functionaries.
The sangha�s managing trustee, Monu Bhattacharjee, said devotees from different branches–Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Indore, Raipur, Varanasi, Muzaffarpur Cuttack, Puri and Ranchi would assemble here to take part in the annual festival.
The flag hoisting ceremony today was followed by hymns, spiritual discourses and cultural programmes presented by members of the sangh belonging to Cuttack, Kharagpur and Ranchi branch at the Rabindra Bhawan in Sakchi. Various other cultural programmes were also presented by members of Mumbai and Delhi branch in the evening at the Rabindra Bhawan.
The occasion also saw Trun Daga, managing director of Jusco releasing Bharatiya Yugavashistha Brahmananda Sangha�s annual souvenir, which was later distributed for free among the members.
The Brahmolokdham, which is a hub of spiritual activities, was set up by the sangha in 1990. Earlier, it was known as Geeta Bhavan.
