Three criminals involved in firing at Tata Steel supplier and Sakchi showroom nabbed

Jamshedpur, Jan 31: Police have managed to nab three youths involved in a separate firing incident at Shastrinagar under Kadma thana and in Sakchi on Sunday.

The three youths have been identified as Mohit Singh, Akash Singh and Rajesh Sao alias Gabbar all residents of Kadma and police recovered three pistols, an auto-rickshaw and a scooty from their possession.

DSP headquarter Pawan Kumar said that the youths were involved in the firing incident on car of Tata Steel supplier Rishikesh Chandra which was parked at the garage of his residence in Shastrinagar on Saturday and that three youths have criminal background and were involved in the Ranjan murder case in Kadma and have been out of jail on bail recently. They were also involved in the firing at Dua Honda Showroom at Sakchi on Friday.  Police is searching for another youth involved in the crime.

Police claim that the main objective was to create fear amongst trader so that they can seek extortion and that they had used the name of notorious gangster  Akhilesh Singh in the threatening letter to both the traders to misguide the police.

All the youths were arrested in Bhalubhasa under Sitaramdera thana area on Saturday night.

The three youths during interrogation by police have revealed that they had fired at the Honda Showroom on January 29 night at around 8 pm and at Shastrinagar supplier car at around 11 pm on Friday night. While Rajesh Sao had fired on the showroom in Sakchi and Mohit Singh was riding the scooty and returned to Kadma without being caught in any checking of police. Thereafter Akash Singh and Mohit Singh drank liquor and made plan to fire on car of Tata Steel supplier. While Rohit singh and Akash Singh reached the house of the supplier in Shastrinagar their accomplice Mohit Singh stayed at a distance and made inspection. Akash Singh fired three rounds on the car and the three escaped after the firing.

Mohit and Akash are siblings and are neighbours and stay not far from Rishikesh Chandra house in Shastrinagar. Mohit Singh who had a shop near the building being constructed by Rishikesh Chandra and had a dispute with the supplier on some issues and this was the reason to fire at the car of the supplier. But the real reason would be revealed only after police investigation.

Significantly, based on the complaint lodged by Rishikesh Chandra a case had been lodged against Mohit Singh, Rohit Singh and others at Kadma thana for firing on his car and seeking extortion.  Police also has information that Rishikesh Chandra had in the past also given some money to Mohit Singh after being threatened.

Mohit and his two other accomplices were involved in the kidnap and murder of Ranjan Singh in Kadma on October 2020 and have been recently out of jail on bail. The three criminals had assembled at Sitaramdera to plan some crime  and were moving in an autorickshaw and were caught by the Tiger Mobile jawans. However, two of their friends managed to flee away. On the basis of interrogation police nabbed Rajesh Sao from Kadma and also recovered the scooty used in the crime.
