Three arrested with 50 packets of brown sugar in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 9: Mango police arrested three persons with 50 packets of brown sugar from Jawaharnagar Road No 14 on Monday.

Those arrested were identified as Rijaul Haq, Mohammad Sazid alias Raja and Akram Ansari, all residents of Mango.

Police said the accused persons were arrested from the premises of forest department office near Jawaharnagar graveyard on the basis of a tip-off. The three regularly deal in prohibited narcotic substances, police said.

A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused persons with the Mango police station.

Five get bail in breach of trust case

Five employees of a private finance company were granted bail from the Court of Principal and Sessions Judge in a case of criminal breach of trust and assault on Monday.One Jitendra Dubey of Burmamines had lodged an FIR against the five with the Burmamines police station. He had got two vehicles financed by the company and also got them insured by it. When the vehicle met with an accident, the company allegedly did not pay him insurance claim and the accused persons reportedly threatened him to withdraw the complaint, Dubey said.

Unconscious youth dies at MGMCH

An 18 year-old youth, identified as Suraj Seth, died during treatment at MGM Hospital on Monday. He was admitted to the government hospital by one Rahul Singh of Sonari Gwala Basti. He was found near Old CP Club, Sonari, in an unconscious state on Sunday last. He was declared brought dead by the doctors in the emergency ward.

Sources said the deceased was a native of Bundu Tamar and that he worked as a helper.

Six booked for molesting woman

A case of molestation was registered against six persons at the Parsudih police station on Monday.

According to police, a local woman accused Tahir Mallick, Ibrahim Hasan, Raja, Sujit Saha, Lakhi Lohar and Asma Khatoon, all residents of Demkasai, Makdampur, of abusing her and molesting her. She alleged that the accused persons had also threatened to assault her. The incident had taken place some nine months ago. The accused persons had taken some goods from the woman’s shop and refused to pay for the same, said cops.

Police said they were verifying the allegations.

Man arrested for kidnapping minor girl

Golmuri police arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl on 5th May last.

Sources said the accused, a resident of Burmamines, had kidnapped the girl around 9 am when she was at her home. The accused persuaded the girl to escape with her. Later, the girl’s family members informed police about the incident and lodged an FIR against unidentified person.

Police arrested the accused on the basis of his mobile phone location through surveillance and rescued the minor girl.
