Three accused sent to jail in Tatanagar Station parking firing case

Jamshedpur, May 22: On Monday, the police sent three accused individuals to jail in connection with the firing incident targeting parking operator Neeraj Dubey at Tatanagar station parking. The accused who have been incarcerated are Ashutosh Singh alias Amrit Singh, Sikandar Kumar Prasad, and Rohit Sharma alias Pandit. However, the police have yet to recover the weapon used during the incident. All three are listed as prime suspects.

Rail DSP Himanshu Chandra Majhi stated on Monday that the shooting took place on May 19, when Neeraj Dubey, the parking caretaker, was fired upon at Tatanagar rail parking. Following the incident, an FIR was filed against Sikandar Prasad, Ashutosh Singh, Vishal Singh, Raja Sharma alias Raja Pagla, Santosh Singh, Golu Yadav, Sintu Singh, and others, based on the statement provided by the injured victim’s cousin, Aman Tiwari.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) had been conducting continuous raids following the incident. Eventually, all the accused were apprehended from Jubilee Park. DSP Himanshu Chandra Majhi disclosed that Santosh Singh alias Fakira was responsible for the supply of sealed bottled water at the station, and there had been a dispute regarding this matter in the past. On the day of the incident, an argument ensued over the phone between Vishal and the complainant, Aman Tiwari, which led to Vishal issuing threats.

On the day of the incident, all the accused individuals arrived armed and opened fire on Neeraj. Subsequently, they fled to Kolkata by train. On the night of May 19, criminals targeted parking contractor Neeraj Dubey, resulting in him sustaining bullet wounds in his shoulder and hand. Neeraj was admitted to TMH (Tata Main Hospital) for treatment following the incident. An FIR was registered at the Tatanagar Railway Station based on the statement provided by Neeraj’s cousin, Aman Tiwari.
