Jamshedpur, May 22: In the Dhalbhum sub-division area, petrol will no longer be available in plastic bottles or cans from local petrol pumps. This decision comes as a security measure and has been issued by Sub-Divisional Officer Piyush Sinha. The order has been communicated to the Petrol Pump Association and copies have been prominently displayed at all petrol stations.
The order explicitly states that under no circumstances should petrol be dispensed in bottles or cans to customers. It also warns that if any petrol pump is found providing fuel in such containers, its license will be revoked. Furthermore, legal action will be taken against the operator or owner of the violating petrol pump. As soon as the order was issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer, all petrol pump operators ceased selling petrol in bottles or cans. Consequently, many customers were seen leaving the petrol pumps empty-handed. Dhalbhum SDM Piyush Sinha commented on the matter, stating that selling petrol in bottles or cans is illegal. Several incidents have come to light where individuals carrying petrol in such containers have engaged in anti-social activities. A similar case occurred in Hyderabad, which prompted the implementation of this security measure.
