Threatened by goons, Jamshedpur resident seeks police protection

Jamshedpur, July 27:  Sashtrinagar Block # 2 resident Ashiq Ali, has written a letter to the City SP, requesting protection against threat to life and property by goons who included Saddam Khan, Azad Khan and Sajjad Khan that the accused had given on their Facebook page. The letter, handed to the SSP’s Grievance Cell was addressed to the City SP.

Ashiq Ali complained in his letter that the accused Saddam Khan, Azad Khan and Sajjad Khan had demanded extortion money of Rs 50,000 from him and on refusal, burnt his car that was parked outside his house on the night of July 18 last year. On complaining of the incident, the police had arrested Saddam Khan and sent him to jail. In retaliation, Azad Khan and Sajjad Khan who were eluding the police dragnet, had used the Facebook page and threatened to kill him and the members of his family in retaliation for the case he had filed that led to Saddam Khan’s jail sentence. As such, Ashiq Khan has sought police protection and stated that his family was in the grips of fear.
