Jamshedpur, July 27: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato today met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and demanded for another branch of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jamshedpur.
The MP cited that that there are a large number of Central Government Ministries, Departments and their branches in Jamshedpur and surrounding areas and large number of central government employees also reside here and there is only Kendriya Vidyalaya which is not enough.
He handed over a memorandum to Union minister discussing in detail all the circumstances regarding the opening of the second branch of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jamshedpur.
The MP said that as per form received through the principal in-charge of Kendriya Vidyalaya Tatanagar, every year more than 500 applications are received for enrollment in class-one, but out of that only 80 students earmarked for class-one can be enrolled, More than the remaining 420 parents are deprived of enrolling in class one.
Enrollment from class-II to class-XII is not possible because a large number of students are studying in all the classes more than the prescribed number.
“We have also come to know through the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tatanagar that CPWD- Burmamines (Jamshedpur) is willing to transfer its land of 19 acres to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as per rules for opening the second branch of Kendriya Vidyalaya,” the MP memorandum states.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that he is giving directions to the concerned officers to study all these things and action will be taken on it as soon as possible.
