Jamshedpur, March 24: In a bid to enhance passenger convenience, Tatanagar station is set to unveil its third escalator within the next few days. Following successful trial runs conducted by railway mechanics and agency employees near the parcel area on platform number one, the escalator is poised to provide seamless access for travellers.
Currently, Tatanagar station boasts two operational escalators on platform number one-two. However, plans were set in motion in 2019 to install an additional four escalators. The inaugural escalator from this expansion initiative is slated for deployment on the foot overbridge at Burmamines Second Gate. This development is particularly significant as passengers currently navigate stairs to transition between platforms, underscoring the importance of the upcoming escalator installation.
Furthermore, escalators are in the process of being installed on the overbridge near the washing line, with an anticipated start date by July. Additionally, preparations are underway on platform number two to facilitate lift installation on the foot overbridge at Burmamines Second Gate, further enhancing accessibility for passengers.
