Gamharia: Unidentified burglars took away jewelry and other valuables worth Rs 3 lakh from the house of one Manoranjan Dutta in Shivpuri Colony of Gamharia under Adityapur police station area late yesterday night.
Sources said the incident happened in the wee hours. Two of the family members were sleeping in the room adjacent to the one attacked first by the thieves. The thieves broke open the safe and took away the jewelry and cash kept inside.
The thieves broke into the house by opening the grill on the window. They took away cash worth Rs 30,000.
An FIR was lodged in this connection with the Adityapur police station. Police said a search was on to nab the culprits.
