Thieves rob house of jewelry and cash worth Rs 14 lakh in Adityapur

Jamshedpur: A robbery was committed on October 8 evening at MIG 79 under RIT police station in which the criminals decamped with Rs 14 lakh worth of jewelry and cash by breaking open the lock of the house. As per information, the family members had gone out to celebrate the birthday of two children at around 7:30 pm. On their return they found the door lock broken. The RIT police were informed of the incident. Saraikela SDPO Avinash Kumar reached the spot with a police team and started investigation. He instructed the RIT PS OC to quickly investigate the incident and nab the culprits. It has been reported that a daughter in the family is to be married in the month of December this year for which jewelry had been purchased. The local residents made available footage from the CCTV placed in the colony, to the police. The footage clearly showed that two suspicious looking youth surveying the proposed scene of the crime. The police have launched investigation into the case. At the time of going to press no breakthrough has been reported.
