Jamshedpur, Oct: Thirteen families of Sanspur village in Matigoda Panchayat were displaced from their homes and land during the construction of the Jadugoda Police Training Centre. The families held a protest in front of the Training Centre demanding alternate accommodation and compensation which had been promised to them during their property acquisition for the building�s construction.
The 13 families were those of Mangal Dhibar, Sriniwas Ram, Shanti Dhibar, Giridhari Patro, Dukhni Dhibar, Laltu Dhibar, Parsuram Patro, Tola Pradhan, Sunil Patro and Ward Member Vikram Singh have been rendered homeless. They are not even getting the benefits of neither the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna nor toilet installation schemes.
Mukhiya Kartick Hembram and Sanspur Gram Pradhan Arvind Bhakt stated that the 13 displaced families have so far been denied of government schemes and facilities. �The government should look after the interests of these poor displaced families so that they can be benefitted by the provisions of the government projects concerned. The government should fulfill its promise.� It remains to be seen when the government will lend ears to the urgings of the suffering, displace families.
