Theft and vandalism at Jamshedpur school 

Jamshedpur, Feb 13: A disturbing incident of theft unfolded at BPM Plus 2 School in the Burmamines police station area, as thieves targeted the educational institution. The school management discovered the theft on Tuesday morning upon opening the school for the day. The thieves had brazenly uprooted all the wiring within the school premises, leaving a trail of damage.

Notably, the perpetrators did not spare even the electric wire connected to the main switch, demonstrating the extent of their vandalism. The high mast light installed on the school premises was also taken away by the thieves. The management promptly reported the incident to the police, prompting the Burmamines police to initiate an investigation into the matter.

Following the school headmistress Ranjita Gandhi’s statement, an FIR has been lodged against unknown individuals at the Burmamines police station. The incident has raised concerns about the rising frequency of thefts, attributed to drug addicts, as lamented by Headmistress Ranjita Gandhi. The stolen wiring, including that of solar lights funded by the MLA, has not only disrupted school activities but has also plunged the premises into darkness, adversely affecting studies and day-to-day operations. As the community calls for swift action, local MLA Saryu Rai has been approached to address the situation and ensure the safety of educational institutions in the area.
