Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Unruly scenes prevailed in New Ranikudar under Kadma Police Station after animal meat was found near Hanuman Mandir on Friday evening.
The news spread like fire all over the area and in turn a group of the people took to streets in protest of the incident and demanded quick action against the culprits. The protestors also shouted slogans against the district administration.
Some of them added fuel to the fire and made situation out of control. Soon Police reached the spot and tried to lift up the animal meat but due to protest they were pulled back.
Seeing the situation BJP and other political leaders reached the spot and tried to manage the protesting crowd but of no use. Some of the protestors started pelting stones and police resorted to lathi charge which resulted in created havoc in the area.
During lathi charge several women and media persons were injured while a stampede scene was created. Soon after hearing about the incident MP Vidyut Varan Mahato, former MLA Saryu Rai along with other politicians reached the area. SSP Amol V Homkar, City SP karthik S, SDO Prem Ranjan and other officials reached the scene were several DSP�s, Policemen, RAF, RAP were soon pressed into service to take control of the situation.
While tension prevailed in the area MP Mahato and Saryu Rai appealed the people to maintain peace.
