Ranchi: The former minister and Congress MLA Yogendra Sao, who has been facing charges of providing patronage to naxals and criminal organizations, was today remanded for two days to CID by a court in Hazaribagh.
The CID had requested the court to allow it to take Yogendra Sao on three days’ remand for interrogation. But, the court remanded him only for two days.
After obtaining court’s order, a CID team would now take Yogendra Sao into its custody and would interrogate him. Sources said that three senior CID officers have arrived in Hazaribagh from Ranchi.
The CID team would try to obtain information about his nexus with the naxal outfit Jharkhand Tiger Group as well as Jharkhand Bachao Andolan.
It may be recalled that the leader of Jharkhand Tiger Group, Rajkumar Sao, after his arrest, had levelled allegation that the then minister Yogendra Sao was the man behind his organization and it is he who provides weapons and money to the organization.
On the other hand, the arrested members of Jharkhand Bachao Andolan too have told the police that their organization has the patronage of Yogendra Sao.
After the issue came to fore, a court of Hazaribagh had issued an arrest warrant against Yogendra Sao on September 14. Yogendra Sao had to resign as minister and for a few days he remained underground.
A CID team arrested him in Delhi on October 5 and brought him over to Ranchi.
