Jamshedpur, March 19: 38 temporary sanitary workers in Tata Motors Hospital will strike work from April 1 if their demands for PF, ESI and final settlements are not met by their contact firm, KAM Enterprises. A tripartite meeting at the DLC’s office ended in a stalemate. The contract firm failed to provide any positive reply due to which the DLC fixed March 31 as the date for the next tripartite meeting.

Jharkhand Mazdoor Union vice president Rajesh Samant informed that a letter had been sent to the DLC regarding the contact firm, KAM Enterprises’ exploitation of workers. He said that acting on the letter the DLC had directed the contract firm to pay the due amount of the workers but even four round of talks had not yielded any positive response from the contractor.

Rajesh Samant said, “If, in the meeting of March 31, the contract firm, KAM Enterprises does not pay the dues to the workers, then from April 1, the workers will launch an indefinite agitation at the Telco Hospital gate for which KAM Enterprises and the DLC will be responsible.”

The Union was represented at the talks by Sapan Karua, Kishor Mukhi, Bhupati Sardar, Sonu Srivastav, Jairam Mukhi, Kisano Hembram and Lakhan Samad.
