Chaibasa, Mar 19: Armed criminals looted Rs 15 lakh from ICICI Bank at Jaintgarh along bordering area between Jharkhand and Odisha on Friday.
According to information electronic shop owner Vishwaroop Kar whose shop is along Jagannathpur-Jaintgarh Main Road and whose bank account is in ICICI bank at Champua in Odisha and since the bank was on strike for last four days the sale amount for deposit in the bank was to the tune of Rs 15 lakhs and since it was a current account the bank officials phoned up the electronic shop owner and were told that the cash was in the home and the bank personnel told that they would come to their house and take away the amount.

At around 3 pm the bank personnel from Champua came to his house on a bike and after taking money were returning in the bike to Champua and they had gone few kilometers from the home when two bike borne criminals accosted them and pointed guns at them and snatched away the cash and escaped towards Jagannathpur. They even beat up the bank personnel.
When the police were informed they reached the spot and started probe and alerted the nearby police stations.
Since Jaintgarh is in border area between Jharkhand and Odisha criminals find it easy to escape to other state after committing crime.
