Jamshedpur: Members of Kali Mandir Seva Samiti, Sonari, today met the special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) and demanded removal of Joggers� Park from the land of Faguram Baba Shamshan Ghat (cremation ground).
The outfit members also demanded action against the builders who had allegedly constructed flats on the ground belonging to the temple committee. They said the builders had been able to get their way by the strength of their highhandedness.
The outfit member Kishore Chatterjee said the Joggers� Park was constructed on a ground used for cremation purpose. He said the former special officer of JNAC had erroneously passed the land map brought to him for the purpose of building flats.
�Many people have come up against the proposal to construct an electric crematorium at the ground. There are also many of them who have interest in securing flats on the said ground. Due to vested interest, these people do not want the crematorium to be built at the disputed place,� said Chatterjee.
