Cold Wave Grips Jharkhand
Jamshedpur: A cold wave continues to sweep across Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, with temperatures dropping sharply in several districts. According to the weather department, the minimum temperature is expected to fall further, with no respite from the chilly conditions until January 15.
On Saturday, Gumla recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 3.7°C. In Chatra and Namkum (Ranchi), the mercury dropped to 4°C. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur’s minimum temperature was recorded at 8.8°C on Saturday, slightly lower than the 9.4°C recorded on Friday.
Other districts also experienced biting cold, with Daltonganj at 6.7°C, Bokaro at 7.2°C, and Chaibasa and Deoghar both at 7.6°C. Lohardaga recorded a low of 4.9°C, while Hazaribagh and Garhwa experienced temperatures of 5.1°C each.
Visibility was also affected, with Bokaro recording the lowest visibility at 800 meters.
Forecast:
The weather department has predicted partly cloudy skies with morning fog in the coming week. Moderate fog is expected in the western parts of the state on Sunday morning, followed by a partly cloudy sky.

The cold wave is expected to persist across the state, making it necessary for residents to take precautions to stay warm.
