Teli Samaj demands caste certificates

Jamshedpur: Akhil Bharatiya Tailik Sahu Mahasabha submitted a memorandum at the DC office demanding ST status to the community and issuance of caste certificates from block office.

The memorandum presented under the leadership of Mahasabha president Raj Kishrore Sahu stated that the members of the community were not been issued caste certificates from the block office.

The members said that in the past the block office issued caste certificates on the recommendations of the president and general secretary of the organizations.

But presently the community members were asked to produce land records or caste certificates issued in the past for the purpose, the said.

Majority of the members of the community is landless and therefore they cannot produce land records, the organization said.
