Teenage boy injured in bursting crackers

Jamshedpur : A teenage boy was seriously injured as he fell victim to bursting crackers at Kuluptanga under RIT police station area in Adityapur this morning.

Fifteen-year-old Rupesh Soy who sustained splinter injuries was rushed to MGM Medical College and Hospital soon after the incident.

A resident of the same Kuluptanga locality, Rupesh had a deep cut in his shoulder caused by the glass splinter triggered following bursting of cracker.

The victim’s relative said that a glass measuring three inches by two inches had pierced in the back of Rupesh.
“We rushed the boy to the MGM Medical College and Hospital’s emergency ward where a minor surgery was conducted,” said Mandal.

A doctor who attended the boy said that timely treatment has saved the boy’s life, otherwise the major injury caused by the wound might have proved fatal.
