Team General Office wins ID Table Tennis tournament 2025

S. Vasanta, Dinesh Rakshit clinch individual title

Jamshedpur, July 2: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised Inter Divisional (ID) Table Tennis Tournament from June 30 to July 2 at the Table Tennis Training Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 135 players including 113 male and 22 female participants representing 17 different units of Tata Steel.

The tournament’s closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Pravesh Narang, Chief GSP & One Supply Chain, Tata Steel, and guests Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief, Sports, Tata Steel and Vibhuti Adesara, Head Events & Training Centres, Tata Steel.

The team from General office demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, ultimately emerging as the champions of the tournament. The team TM, GSP & One Supply Chain secured the runner-up position, while West Bokaro claimed the second runner-up spot.

In the individual Women’s events, introduced in ID table Tennis for the first time, S. Vasanta from the General Office clinched the Winner’s title, with Akshita Patel from West Bokaro finishing as the runner-up. Deepa Kumari Mishra from General Office secured the second runner-up position.

In the individual Men’s events, Dinesh Rakshit from the General Office clinched the winner’s title, with Pravesh Narang from GSP & One Supply Chain finishing as the runner-up. Mayank Thakur from General Office secured the second runner-up position.

To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the championship benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials, including Ujjal Chatterjee, L N Mitra, Vaibhav Sharma, Karan Raj and Prathamvir Bhamra who performed their roles admirably.
