Teachers to agitate at CM residence in demand for upgraded pay

Saraikela: Jharkhand Prathmik Sikshak Sangh�s district executive committee today held a meeting in the Municipality Odiya Middle School in Saraikela. The meeting chaired by the Sangh�s president Manik Hansda expressed anger at the state government�s lackadaisical attitude in paying their upgraded salaries and arrears accrued there from. The meeting discussed the one day statewide agitation program on October 21 in demand for parity of pay with Secretariat staff as per the provisions of the VI th Pay Commission. It was unanimously decided in the meeting that the primary school teachers would organize a protest in front of the Chief Minister�s residence on October 21. More than 200 primary school teachers of the district will participate in the agitation. All block committees have been urged to ensure success of the program.  Those present in the meeting included chief secretary Amit Kumar Mahto, Samai Singh, Basudev Mahto, Subhash Singh, Dakhin Hembram, and Makardhwaj Pradhan.
