Jamshedpur: Teachers� Day was celebrated with fervour at Govind Vidyalaya on Tuesday. The director of the school Dr Bramhadutt Sharma inaugurated the function by garlanding a portrait of the former President of India Dr S Radhakrishnan and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Kaushik Kundu, a class XII student, gave the welcome speech. The sudents sang a song dedicated to teachers. They also performed dance on the occasion.
Dr Sharma spoke on the importance of Teachers� Day and bid farewell to the vice principal of the school Molly Majumdar. A memento was also given to the vice president on behalf of the students, teachers and school management.
The programme was conducted by Neha Parveen and Shagufta. A vote of thanks was proposed by Aftab Alam.
