Teacher educates by behaviour, not words: Retired Air Force Officer MK Sharma

Jamshedpur, Feb 12: A talk on ‘How to attain success in life’ was organized at Srinath University in Adityapur in which the keynote speaker retired Indian Air Force Officer, MK Sharma observed, “A teacher educates with his or her behaviour and not words. Education is one opportunity by availing which, a person can wring in positive changes in society.”

Earlier, MK Sharma was welcomed by University Secretary, Gurudev Mahto.

In his motivational talk, keynote speaker MK Sharma, to highlight the topic, ‘How to attain success in life,’ cited a list of names to underline the perspective that education was the way to set the ball of development rolling. He said,  “Gautam Buddha, Chanakya, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekanand, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and many others constitute the initiators of positive social changes through their innovative thoughts to drive a community, society and nation ahead,” and added, “There are two kinds of worlds, the physical and spiritual and to ensure individual and to achieve success, a person has to find a balance between the two.” Sharma opined that a teacher should always concentrate on the mental and physical uplift of students to make them ideal builders of a nation. 

In the course of his talk, the retired IAF Officer opined, “The success mantra to surge ahead individually and collectively lies in fixing a target followed by means of achieving the target through concentration, time management of time, honesty, hard work, simplicity, empathy and determination.”

Those who attended Saturday’s programme included the Principal of Srinath Public School, faculty members of the various University departments and students of the school and university. The program was anchored and coordinated by Prof In-charge Bhavya Bhushan while the vote of thanks was offered by Asst Prof Rachna Rashmi.
