Jamshedpur, May 3: During a routine inspection on the Rishikesh-Puri Utkal Express, the Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) came across two unaccompanied children on Thursday night. When questioned, the children claimed to be without their parents. The TTE decided to disembark them at Chakradharpur railway station and hand them over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF). TTE Santosh Kumar recounted that the children, identified as Surya Kaivati and Chhotu Kaivati, aged between ten to twelve years, were found wandering with their bags at Rourkela station. The children stated they intended to reach Allahabad to visit the banks of the Ganges but boarded the wrong train. However, authorities suspect they may have run away from home. RPF officials were conducting an investigation to reunite the children with their families.
