Jamshedpur, May 3: Train services will be disrupted on May 4, 2025, due to a mega block implemented for the construction of a low-height subway on the Punadag–Radhagaon rail section under the Adra Division. As a result, multiple trains will be cancelled, partially terminated, diverted, or delayed.
Train number 58033/58034 Bokaro Steel City–Ranchi–Bokaro Steel City Passenger will remain fully cancelled on May 4. Train number 13319/13320 Dumka–Ranchi–Dumka Express will be partially terminated and started from Dhanbad. The section between Dhanbad and Ranchi will not be operational for this train on that day.
Several trains will run on diverted routes. Train number 12818 Anand Vihar Terminal–Hatia Express, scheduled for May 3, will be rerouted via Tori–Lohardaga–Ranchi instead of its regular path through Gaya, Chandrapura, Bokaro Steel City and Muri. Train number 02831 Dhanbad–Bhubaneswar Special and train number 13351 Dhanbad–Alappuzha Express, both scheduled for May 4, will be diverted via Chandrapura–Barkakana–Muri. Similarly, train number 12365/12366 Patna–Ranchi–Patna Jan Shatabdi Express will follow the same diverted route on May 4.
Departure times for some trains have also been revised. Train number 18625 Purnea Court–Hatia Express will depart one hour late, while train number 18639 Ara–Ranchi Express will depart 30 minutes late. Train number 12817 Hatia–Anand Vihar Terminal Express will leave one hour behind its scheduled time. Additionally, due to development works under the South East Central Railway, train number 22845 Pune–Hatia Express will depart from Pune at 2:15 PM instead of its regular departure time of 10:45 AM on May 4, delayed by 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Jamshedpur, May 3: In a move to ease passenger travel during the summer rush, Indian Railways has decided to temporarily augment train number 15028/15027 Gorakhpur–Sambalpur–Gorakhpur Express with an additional air-conditioned coach. This decision has been taken to accommodate increased demand and provide better comfort to travellers during the peak travel season.
According to railway officials, train number 15028 Gorakhpur–Sambalpur Express will run with one extra AC 3-tier coach from May 4, 2025, to June 30, 2025. Similarly, the return service, train number 15027 Sambalpur–Gorakhpur Express, will have the same additional AC 3-tier coach from May 6, 2025, to July 2, 2025.
This temporary augmentation is aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and ensuring smoother travel amid the summer holiday season, which typically sees a significant rise in railway bookings. Passengers are encouraged to check train compositions and availability in advance to make informed travel plans.
Summer special train between Coimbatore and Dhanbad via Ranchi
Jamshedpur, May 3: To accommodate increased passenger traffic during the summer season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of a weekly Summer Special train between Coimbatore and Dhanbad via Ranchi. The special service will run under train numbers 06063 and 06064.
Train number 06063 Coimbatore–Dhanbad Summer Special will depart from Coimbatore every Friday between May 2 and May 23, 2025, making a total of four trips. The train will depart Coimbatore at 11:50 AM, arriving at Salem at 2:47 PM and departing at 2:50 PM. It will then reach Katpadi at 6:05 PM, leaving at 6:10 PM. Major stops also include Vijayawada at 3:30 AM (departure at 3:40 AM), Rayagada at 3:40 PM (departure at 3:42 PM) and Sambalpur.
This special service is part of the railway’s broader efforts to manage the seasonal travel rush and provide smoother connectivity between southern and eastern India. Passengers are advised to check the complete schedule and make reservations in advance.
