Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Tatanagar station, in Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway, is set to undergo a transformation under the Amrit Bharat Yojna, with several projects receiving approval from the Railway Board.
Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for these projects virtually on February 26. Among the approved projects are the construction of railway overbridges at Barigora (LC 138) and Govindpur (LC 137), as well as a railway underbridge near Salgajhuri and the Tata-Badampahar railway tracks. Additionally, a railway underbridge beyond Haldipokhar and a subway between Galudih and Rakhamines in Kharagpur Railway Division are also in the pipeline.
The parliamentarian highlighted that he had consistently pursued these projects with the Railway Minister and senior rail officials. He also confirmed that Tatanagar station, initially omitted from the Amrit Bharat Yojna, had now been included following his specific request to the Railway Minister.
The construction of overbridges and under-bridges is expected to alleviate traffic congestion, particularly in areas like Salgajhuri, Govindpur, and Barigora, where the problem has been acute for years. Mahato expressed optimism that the commencement of these projects would provide relief to commuters and traffic congestions would be eased.
