Jamshedpur: Congress, Mukhi community mourn death of Suresh Mukhi

Jamshedpur, Feb 21: The funeral rites of Suresh Mukhi, the President of the Mukhi Samaj and President of the Congress SC Cell, were performed on Wednesday.

His mortal remains were brought to the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee office at Tilak Pustakalaya where District President Anand Bihari Dubey, senior leader Dr. Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, and Congress members paid their respects by draping Suresh Mukhi’s body with the party flag. Floral tributes were offered by senior Congressmen and party workers, who offered prayers for the peace of the departed leader’s soul.

Suresh Mukhi’s body was recovered from the Dhatkidih Lake at 9 pm on Tuesday night. After a search by his companions and family, his body was found floating in the lake. When taken to Tata Main Hospital doctors pronounced him dead.

A huge crowd of mourners attended Suresh Mukhi’s funeral. His Congress colleagues said that a void had been created by his untimely demise in the party and the community in general. They said that Suresh Mukhi was a dedicated leader and advocate for social justice and welfare.
