Tatanagar station modernization plans advancing, final decision with Railway Minister

Jamshedpur, July 1: Railway Deputy General Manager Anil Kumar Dubey, along with Senior DCM Aditya Kumar Chaudhary, Area Manager Abhishek Kumar Singhal, and other officials, convened to discuss the comprehensive modernization plan for Tatanagar railway station. Following the meeting, Dubey informed reporters that two redevelopment maps for Tatanagar station have been drafted, emphasizing the removal of developmental hurdles.

He elaborated that the plans include redeveloping station facilities, constructing parking areas, refurbishing old foot over bridges, expanding the loco yard, and establishing a second entry gate at Burmamines. These proposals will be submitted to the Railway Minister for a final decision.

Regarding the third railway line project, Dubey underscored the importance of addressing necessary improvements and ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers during construction. Special training sessions for agency personnel are being conducted for this purpose.

Furthermore, Dubey acknowledged issues related to medical facilities for railway employees and security arrangements within railway colonies. He pledged to address encroachments on railway land around the station, starting with Gandhinagar, and vowed action against illegal occupants of railway quarters.

Shivji Sharma, Central Vice President of the South Eastern Railway Men’s Union, presented a 10-point demand letter to Railway AGM Anil Kumar Dubey, advocating for enhanced health facilities, eviction of encroachers from railway land, and stringent action against unauthorized occupants of railway quarters.
